Rheumatoid Arthritis symptoms :-
Pain and stiffness in the joints, anemia, colitis.
The main symptoms of osteoarthritis are pain and stiffness in the joints. The pain usually increases after exercise. Rheumatoid arthritis is often called the 'cooked food disease'. lt usually develops gradually over several months, with persistent pain and stiffness in one or more joints. Ultimately the whole body is affected. Symptoms include anemia, colitis, constipation, deformed hands and feet.
Cause of Rheumatoid Arthritis :-
Structural changes in the articular cartilage in the joints.
Osteoarthritis results from structural changes in the articular cartilage in the joints, usually those which are weight-bearing, such as the spine and knees.
Hormonal imbalance, physical and emotional stress.
Rheumatoid arthritis is due to an inflammation of the synovium or lining of the joints. This is accompanied by swelling and eventually leads to deformity. The condition may be caused by hormonal imbalance, physical and emotional stress, infection, severe fright, shock, and injury.
Rheumatoid Arthritis diet :-
Take fruits and vegetables in the form of salads.
The diet of an arthritis patient should be planned so as to produce alkalinity in the blood. It should include fruits and vegetables in the form of salads, and, at least, two cooked vegetables. In severe cases, it would be advisable to put the patient on raw vegetable juice therapy three times a day, for about a week. Repeated juice fasts are recommended at intervals of every two months.
Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatments :-
(1) Keep body warm, don't bandage joints :-
The body should be kept warm at all times . Joints should not be bandaged tightly as this limits movement and interferes with the free circulation of blood.
(2) Take rest, should have plenty of indirect ventilation :-
There should be plenty of indirect ventilation in the bedroom. Rest is advised when there is acute inflammation in the joints.
(3) Sea bathing :-
Sea bathing has been found valuable in arthritis. The natural iodine in sea water is said to relieve arthritis pain. As is well known, Iodine regulates the acid-alkaline balance in the blood and tissues, helps to repair and regenerate worn out tissues and nourishes the skeletal structure. It enters into the thyroid gland's secretion. The hormone uses the iodine to cleanse the internal toxins. If sea bathing is not possible, the patient should relax for thirty minutes every night in a tub of warm water, in which a cup of common salt has been mixed. The minerals in the salt, especially Iodine, will be absorbed through the pores of the skin. This will help correct an internal imbalance.
Home Remedies for Rheumatoid Arthritis :-
Drinking water kept overnight in a copper container accumulates traces of copper, which is said to strengthen the muscular system. A copper ring or bracelet is worn for the same reason.
Garlic is another effective remedy for arthritis. It contains an anti-inflammatory property which accounts for its effectiveness in the treatment of this disease. Garlic may be taken raw or cooked according to individual preference.
Bananas, being a rich source of vitamin B6, have proved useful in the treatment of arthritis. A diet of only bananas for three or four days is advised in treating this condition. The patient may eat eight or nine bananas daily during this period and nothing else.
Lime has also been found beneficial as a home remedy for arthritis. The citric acid found in lime is a solvent of uric acid which is the primary cause of some types of arthritis. The juice of one lime, diluted with water, may be taken once a day, preferably first thing in the morning.

Reiki Symbols Healing Massage Therapy
What is Reiki ?
Reiki is a very ancient science.Reiki in Japanese means universal life Force Energy. It is made of two parts, ‘Rei’— meaning universal, transcendental spirit, and ‘Ki’— meaning energy or power.
Reiki is a method of connecting universal energy with the body’s innate power of healing. Reiki is simple and anybody can learn it. The possibility of self-treatment makes it quite advantageous. Self-treatment amplifies the life force energy in our body releasing the withheld emotions and energy blocks. The results may not be immediately perceptible but it is definitely helpful in relieving stress and helping the person think positive.
As in most things Reiki must be experienced to be appreciated. Practicing Reiki helps create harmony in the body, giving a deep sense of peace and relaxation.
Principles of Reiki :-
Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings :- One must live in a state of gratitude, consciously appreciating and thanking the many blessings of life. It helps in transforming negative attitudes into positive ones.
Just for today, I will not worry :- Negative thoughts indicate a lack of faith in Searchd and hinder the outcome of our efforts. A positive frame of mind, makes the situations appear far better than they would otherwise be.
Just for today I will not be angry :- Persons who know and have developed the ability to handle anger, have made their lives happy.
Just for today I will do my work honestly :- Doing the work honestly and facing the truth in all things brings a peace of mind and calmness which can transform the person and raise his self-esteem.
Just for today I will be kind to my neighbour and every living thing :- To help in healing the whole world and developing a loving atmosphere, we must show respect to all living things.
Effects and Benefits of Reiki :-
Reiki is an extremely effective technique for total relaxation and stress reduction. Reiki can not only effect changes in the physical structure of the body by helping to regenerate organs and re-build tissues but also helps to create balance on the mental level.
One of the greatest benefits is self treatment. Treating oneself helps to release withheld emotions and energy blocks.
Reiki has been found to :
(1) Balance the energy
(2) Reverse aging process.
(3) Amplify the energy levels.
(4) It heals holistically.
(5) It can never do damage since it flows in quantities necessary for the recipient.
How Does Reiki Heal?
Life force is the non-physical energy that animates all living things. It flows through the body through certain pathways, which are called chakras and meridians. Also, it creates energy field— aura, which surrounds the body and permeates it.
Reiki heals by tapping into this life force and regulating its flow. Life force becomes disrupted when negative thought attach themselves to the energy field and obstruct the flow of vital energy, resulting in disease. Reiki straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus leading to positive thoughts and life force to flow in a healthy way.
Reiki treatment is done by laying hands gently on various parts of the body with fingers closed tight. The recipient feels a kind of flowing sensation, often combined with sensation of warmth.
Some recipients of Reiki say that they never before experienced such a deep sense of peace and relaxation. The recipient is brought into a state of unity with the harmony of the universe, and then he can heal himself by using his natural ability.
Reiki functions on all levels— mental and spiritual, physical and emotional. It cleanses the body of all toxins and encourages the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It amplified and balances energy, increases awareness and creativity helps, helps in releasing the blocked emotions and stress leading to total relaxation.
The Difference between Reiki and other Healing Methods :-
Reiki is simple. As compared to other forms of therapy which may demand months of training, Reiki can be learnt in a weekend. The ability to learn Reiki is not dependant on any special attributes in the learner. It is passed on from one the teacher to the student and he can then do Reiki. So, even a child can learn Reiki. In other forms healing, the healer must concentrate hard on sending energy. In Reiki, once the initial intention to treat has been completed and the hands have been placed on the body, the energy is drawn on its own.
Reiki is quite effective for self-treatment. Reiki is always with the personal and requires no special devices. Whenever there is pain somewhere, or when there is a feeling of tiredness, Reiki can be used to energize and calm down.

Health Fitness Care – Aging Effects on Body Parts at Different Times
We all accept that getting older is inevitable, and now leading clinicians have revealed the exact age when different body parts start to decline, most alarming being the brain and lungs.
(1) Brain :-
It starts aging at 20 years age.
As we get older, the number of nerve cells - or neurons - in the brain decrease. We start with around 100 billion, but in our 20s this number starts to decline. By 40, we could be losing up to 10,000 per day, affecting memory, co-ordination and brain function.
(2) Gut :-
It starts aging at 55 years age.
A healthy gut has a good balance between harmful and 'friendly' bacteria. But levels of friendly bacteria in the gut drop significantly after 55, particularly in the large intestine. As a result, we suffer from poor digestion and an increased risk of gut disease. Constipation is more likely as we age, as the flow of digestive juices from the stomach, liver, pancreas and small intestine slows down.
(3) Breasts :-
It starts aging at 35 years age.
BY their mid-30s, women's breasts start losing tissue and fat, reducing size and fullness.
Sagging starts properly at 40 and the areola (the area surrounding the nipple) can shrink considerably.
(4) Bladder :-
It starts aging at 65 years age.
Loss of bladder control is more likely when you hit 65.Women are more vulnerable to bladder problems as, after the menopause, declining estrogen levels make tissues in the urethra - the tube through which urine passes - thinner and weaker, reducing bladder support.Bladder capacity in an older adult generally is about half that of a younger person - about two cups in a 30-year-old and one cup in a 70-year-old.
(5) Lungs :-
It starts aging at 20 years age.
Lung capacity slowly starts to decrease from the age of 20. By the age of 40, some people are already experiencing breathlessness. This is partly because the muscles and the rib cage which control breathing stiffen up.
(6) Voice :-
It starts aging at 65 years age.
Our voices become quieter and hoarser with age. The soft tissues in the voice box (larynx) weaken, affecting the pitch, loudness and quality of the voice. A woman's voice may become huskier and lower in pitch, whereas a man's might become thinner and higher.
(7) Hair :-
It starts aging at 30 years age.
Male hair loss usually begins in the 30s. Hair is made in tiny pouches just under the skin's surface, known as follices.A hair normally grows from each follicle for about three years, is then shed, and a new hair grows. Most people will have some gray hair by the age of 35. When we are young, our hair is coloured by the pigments produced by cells in the hair follicle known as melanocytes.
(8) Fertility :-
It starts aging at 35 years age.
Female fertility begins to decline after 35, as the number and quality of eggs in the ovaries start to fall. The lining of the womb may become thinner, making it less likely for a fertilised egg to take, and also creating an environment hostile to sperm.
(9) Eyes :-
It starts aging at 40 years age.
Glasses are the norm for many over-40s as failing eyesight kicks in - usually long- sightedness, affecting our ability to see objects up close.
(10) Heart :-
It starts aging at 40 years age.
The heart pumps blood less effectively around the body as we get older. This is because blood vessels become less elastic, while arteries can harden or become blocked because of fatty deposits forming on the coronary arteries - caused by eating too much saturated fat. The blood supply to the heart is then reduced, resulting in painful angina. Men over 45 and women over 55 are at greater risk of a heart attack.

Healthy Mind – Principles For Peace Of Mind
(1) Do Not Interface In Other Business Unless Asked :-
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.
(2) Forgive and Forget :-
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive, Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.
(3) Do Not Crave For Recognition :-
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yourself in striving for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and sincerely.
(4) Do Not Be Jealous :-
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody's life is shaped by his/her destiny, which has now become his/her reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind.
(5) Chang Yourself According To The Environment :-
If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.
(6) Endure What Cannot Be Cured :-
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control. If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully. Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power.
(7) Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew :-
This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.
(8) Meditate Regularly :-
Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.
(9) Never Leave The Mind Vacant :-
An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile. Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.
(10) Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret :-
Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt milk?

Alternative Health News – Swine Flu and Pregnancy
Swine Flu May Pose Problems for Pregnant Women. U.S. health officials said Tuesday that they're seeing some complications among pregnant women as the swine flu continues to spread across the country.
"Pregnant women are at higher risk of complications of influenza, whether it's the seasonal influenza or pandemics of the past. We are also seeing some severe complications in women with this year's novel H1N1 virus," Dr. Anne Schuchat, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's interim deputy director for science and public health program, said during an afternoon teleconference. The CDC is investigating 20 cases of pregnant women with the swine flu, several of whom experienced complications, Schuchat said.
Complications can include pneumonia, dehydration and premature birth. "It is very important that doctors who are caring for pregnant women they suspect may have influenza, that they issue prompt treatment with antiviral medicines," she said.
Doctors can be reluctant to treat pregnant women with antiviral drugs such as Tamiflu and Relenza, and pregnant women may be reluctant to take them out of fear that they may pose a risk during pregnancy.
Experts who have looked into this situation strongly say that the benefits of using antiviral drugs to treat influenza in a pregnant woman outweigh the theoretical concerns about the drugs.

Altenative Health News - Massage After Exercise Doesn't Improve Blood Flow
Does massage after exercise really improve blood flow to the muscle and remove lactic acid and other waste products from the body? The answer is no, and to the contrary massage actually impairs blood flow to the muscle after exercise.
"This dispels a common belief in the general public about the way in which massage is beneficial," says kinesiology and health studies professor Michael Tschakovsky of Queen University, where the study was carried out.
"All the physical therapy professionals that I have talked to, when asked what massage does, answer that it improves muscle blood flow and helps get rid of lactic acid. Ours is the first study to challenge this and rigorously test its validity," he said.
The belief that massage aids in the removal of lactic acid from muscle tissue is so pervasive it is even listed on the Canadian Sports Massage Therapists website as one of the benefits of massage, despite there being absolutely no scientific research to back this up.
